If you came here thinking technical support, boy are you going to be disappointed... and you may need more help that we are capable of providing anyway...
After all, we adhere to the corporate Customer Disservice doctrine "We're not satisfied until you're not satisfied..."
Or, as Bill often replies when asked whether he needs assistance: "...I'm probably beyond help..."
What is this really about? It's about us experimenting with Amazon to see if we can earn a few cents from purchases you might make from links our blog. This costs you nothing more... and maintains your anonymity... [And we won't ever link to anything we don't already own and use...]
Why?
We're retired management professionals and enjoy maintaining this blog and contributing to various forums when we have time, the energy, the required experience [you will find we rarely express an opinion...] the inclination, and of course, the internets...
We maintain knowledge of, and discuss a lot of products we already own in our service and support blog posts- and always provide product links for reference. [Some of our less technical friends actually think we know of what we speak. Imagine that...]
Sometimes we take on a consulting gig. Sometimes someone actually asks us to do some work... [the nerve...]
Often we are just researching products and prices to maintain our own required frugality.
Therefore, on February 4th, 2016, we initiated this experiment to see if we can recoup [milk...] a few pennies toward our efforts [which seems to be all they are worth these days anyway...] and become Amazon.com Associates.
Oooo- Ahhhh you say. [Or more likely; so what...?]
What does this mean? Are you yet another cruiser begging for beer money?
No! (Donna drinks wine...)
Seriously, all it means is when someone clicks on an Amazon link on our blog [if we can remember to add the special link...] or uses this link we might receive a few pennies if that item is added to their shopping cart and they buy it within a few weeks.
And we will never link to a product we don't already own and have first-hand experience with...
The price is the same whether the purchase is made through our link or not. If the pennies ever add up to $10, we get a payment. Whoo Hoo.
If they don't, then we never see a dime... [Which is what we anticipate...]
For perspective, if we received 30 of these $10 minimum payments in the next 5 years it will pay for a month [or two] of internet access- or maybe some cat litter...
If this makes us millionaires, we will let you know...
If you want a painless way to 'contribute' toward our efforts [spending no more than you're going to anyway- so it isn't really a contribution... and it is totally anonymous... we never know who you are, but we thank you none-the-less...] while we listlessly drift around on our sailboat ducking work, please use the following link to do your Amazon shopping:
And please rest assured that this is as far as we plan to go with 'monetizing' [likely an oxymoron in our case...] this blog...
We disdain display ads, so we refuse to inflict them upon others... That includes you...
This notice will self-destruct if [when?] we are not happy with the outcome [income...] of this experiment...
Cheers, and thanks for your consideration participating in our experiment!
Bill and Donna [and Gus the boat cat...]
PS: Oh, and if you don't care to participate or think it is some kind of subversive plot, don't worry; you can justify your decision by informing your friends it is highly unlikely we will ever miss a meal- although skipping one now and then might not hurt us...
But we hope you will reconsider since there is absolutely no additional cost to you. Ever. And it is totally anonymous; we never know who purchased what...
Besides, who else do you know that strives this hard working for pennies per day?...

Because of spammers, comments may be moderated [and 'Anonymous' are usually deleted...] so please be patient if they don't appear quickly... We are cuisers. Sometimes it may be days— even weeks— before we have internet access. Even Elon's... [Don't feel sorry for us... It's intentional...]
