Friday Funny 06-21/19 (Are You in Genius?)

Saturday morning cartoons.

Who didn't love watching Warner Brothers, Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote, Bugs Bunny, Foghorn Leghorn, and all? The subtle humor was wasted on the young. The same held true for Bullwinkle and Rocky.

"Watch me pull a rabbit outta my hat!"

Did you ever contemplate this sentiment?

"Food" for thought. hehe

This sign showed up in my Facebook feed:

True or False?

I've been to the Juneau AK airport recently, I didn't see this sign, but I didn't go out for a hike either. I Googled it, and guess what.... it's true! This sign really does exist.

Read about it here, Coyote Sign.

Today's blog, not boat related, but humorous anyway.

As always, we enjoy hearing from you, either here in comments or on our Facebook Denali Rose Sailboat page.

Friday Funny 06-14/19 (Location, Location, Location)

I was remiss last Friday with posting a Friday funny, but I have a reason. I was in El Paso Texas with my son, and his family, my eldest grandson graduated high school, and I wanted to be there to enjoy the event. Family trumps blog post every time.

I didn't get out to see much while I was there, one, it was 100 degrees, and I'm not made to handle that kind of heat, and two, the family is moving to Chicago IL, and I helped with packing, and cleaning.

We found him in the crowd.

My son Matthew, has an enclosed trailer, and as boxes, and tubs were sealed, in they went.

Loading up.

Dari plans to attend the University of Alaska in Fairbanks, and we send good wishes to him for the next phase of his life.

We did go to a local winery one afternoon, and listened to music while sipping chilled white wine, and I bought a souvenir.

My new coaster. 😁

We crossed the Rio Grande to get to the winery, it's not very impressive when the water level is low.

Brown low level water in the Rio Grande.

El Paso was hot at 100 degrees, and when I flew home to Wrangell, I went through Phoenix, which was 100 degrees, and Seattle which was 90. Mostly we get to stay inside air conditioned airports, but in Phoenix, Alaska Airlines is in a terminal that is not on the rail system, and I had to walk to it outside, and we always have to overnight in Seattle to get to Wrangell on the one flight in the morning, so I had to transit to a hotel for the night.

It was raining, and 55 degrees when I stepped off of the plane in Wrangell, and I loved it!

This spring I have visited my daughter, and her partner in Seattle, my son, and his family in Texas, I attended my outdoor women's weekend, and now I can get back to my regular life onboard.  We're preparing to leave the dock for our extended summer/fall cruise, and have some fun.

We think we'll head north again, and visit places with wonderful names like, Ford's Terror, and Peril Strait. Who doesn't love a challenge?
