Friday Funny 12/16 (Christmas Movies)

Yum, gingerbread men, with icing.

I have three DVD's onboard, this is one of them. I always have to watch this classic movie before Christmas, and I laugh myself silly every time.

One of my favorites.

I've always wanted to memorize this rant, well, because I'm weird, and I love this movie.

Go Clark Griswold

And who can forget this memorable scene?

Living on a boat with a blackwater holding tank, this has significance.

The second DVD onboard is, The Muppet Christmas Carol, with Michael Caine as Scrooge.

People and Muppets, a good combo.

The version I have is hard to find. That's because there's a scene where young Scrooge's girlfriend, Belle sings a song . It's called "When Love is Gone", and she sings it when she gives up on having a life and a family with Scrooge. Disney deleted it because they felt it wouldn't appeal to young children. I can understand that, it's a tear-jerker, but I love that I have a copy that includes it.

These are my favorite characters from any Muppet production. I enjoy their humor....

Their names are Statler, and Waldorf, playing the parts of Jacob and Robert Marley.

And though I don't have copies of these, who wouldn't include them in Holiday Classics.

The Grinch, with the original score sung by Boris Karloff is the best. IMHO

A Christmas Story
With such classic lines like: You'll shoot your eye out! It must be Italian, fra-gee-lay. (fragile)

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.

A local Wrangell homeowner must have liked this classic too.

Rudolph, Yukon Cornelius, and Bumble,  the Abominable Snowman.

And, now I bet you are curious about the title of the third DVD I have onboard. It's Captain Ron, of course!

Whats's your favorite movie, holiday or otherwise?

  1. My all time favorite is The Grinch starring Jim Carrey. I never get tired of his portrayal. "It's not a skirt! It's a Kilt!". We also love 'A Christmas Story', although the scene with the tongue on the cold flagpole stuck with me for years, and not in a good way. Mike and I will be aboard Christmas day this year. Maybe we need to do a movie day. I keep thinking Christmas is over because we did our celebrating early. But then I realize it isn't. I still have time to watch my favorites! Oh, also A Charlie Brown Christmas. Mike loves that one.

    1. Oh, yes, Charlie Brown's Christmas is a great one also. I love the cool "real" Whoville town in Jim Carrey's Grinch. They would have had to have a Suess imagination to build it. Popcorn and movie(s) on Christmas Day, sounds like a winner to me.

  2. Rudolph is my favorite Christmas movie from when I was a kid. The Abominable Snowman still scares me though.

  3. The puppet animation is corny, but still cute. I don't know why Hermey the elf, would want to be a dentist, I'm scared of them.
